A 22 year-old Regina male is facing charges in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation.
On Sunday, July 3, 2022, at approximately 11:16 p.m., police saw a speeding vehicle in the area of Angus Street and 4th Avenue. The vehicle: a grey Nissan Rogue, matched the description of a recently stolen vehicle. They were also able to read the license plate and learned that the license plate had been reported stolen in a separate incident. Over the course of the night, different police units observed the vehicle disobeying traffic signals and driving recklessly. Authorization was given for the use of a spike belt, which was safely deployed at approximately 2:30 a.m. The Nissan Rogue was found, unoccupied a short time later, in the area of Ross Avenue and Winnipeg Street. A track by a canine unit found two people hiding nearby. One was found to have no criminal involvement and was released. The other individual, a 22 year-old male, was arrested and charged.
Twenty-two year-old Kaleb Braden RYDER, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000, s. 355(a) CC;
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000, s. 355(b) CC; and
- Operate Conveyance in a Manner Dangerous to Public, s. 320.13(1) CC.
RYDER was released on an undertaking to appear in Provincial Court on August 18, 2022.
