On Saturday, June 20, 2026, at approximately 5:15 p.m., police were called to the 300 block of Rink Avenue for a report of a robbery. The victim reported four male youth approached him, threatened him and demanded his shoes. The victim handed over his shoes to the suspects, who then fled on foot.
A short time later, patrol officers located the suspects in the area of Rochdale Boulevard and Lakeridge Drive. One of the suspects was found wearing the stolen shoes and two suspects were in possession of bear spray.
As a result of this investigation:
A 14 year-old male, who cannot be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
- Robbery [CC 344(1)(B)].
A 16 year-old male, who cannot be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
- Robbery [CC 344(1)(B)]; and
- Possession of a Weapon [CC 88].
A 15 year-old male, who cannot be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
- Robbery [CC 344(1)(B)];
- Possession of a Weapon [CC 88]; and
- Failure to Comply with Condition of a Release Order [CC 145(5)(A)].
The three youth will make their first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Youth Court on July 22, 2026.
