One male is charged in connection with an early morning motor vehicle collision that sent a male victim to hospital.
At approximately 2:22 a.m. today – Monday, December 20, 2021 – police were dispatched to an apartment building in the 2800 block of 25th Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle collision with injuries. When police arrived they found a male standing beside a vehicle that had struck the building, pushing some of the exterior wall and window inward, into an apartment suite. A resident of that apartment, a 27 year-old male, was inside, sleeping below the point where the vehicle hit the building. The victim was taken to hospital by EMS for treatment. Police investigation into this incident resulted in charges against the driver of the vehicle.
Twenty-three year-old Joel RAJU, of Regina, is charged with;
- Impaired Operation of a Conveyance, causing bodily harm, s. 320.14(2) CC; and
- Exceed 80 mgs. Blood Alcohol, s. 320.14(b) CC.
RAJU was released on an undertaking to appear in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on January 13, 2022.
