On December 12, 2021 at 4:10 a.m. police located a stolen vehicle in the area of Cameron Street and 6th Avenue. Police attempted to stop the suspect vehicle and it stopped in the 1200 block of Cameron Street where the occupants fled on foot from the vehicle. One suspect stopped immediately when challenged by police. Two other suspects continued to flee on foot. A second suspect was arrested inside a residence a short time later. A firearm was located in the snow near the vehicle as well as ammunition located in a backpack inside the vehicle.
Twenty-three year-old Isaiah BITTERNOSE, of Regina, is charged with:
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 [355(a) CC]; and
– Fail to Comply with a Probation Order [733.1(1) CC]; and
– Possession of a Weapon [88 CC]; and
– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [91(1) CC]; and
– Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon [91(2) CC]
Thirty year-old Axyl MAHINGEN, of Regina, is charged with:
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 [355(a) CC]; and
– Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [117.01(1) CC]; and
– Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [117.01(1) CC]; and
– Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [117.01(1) CC]; and
– Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon [91(2) CC]
BITTERNOSE and MAHINGEN will make their first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. today, Monday December 13, 2021.
