On December 11, 2021 at 4:40 p.m. police were dispatched to a report of a theft of a phone from a business in the 1800 block of Rose Street. The victim reported a suspect male came into the store and stole a phone. The suspect exited the store and victim followed the suspect outside. The suspect produced a knife and threatened to harm the victim. The victim retreated back into the store while the suspect attempted to get into a taxi. The police arrived and the suspect exited the taxi and tried to flee on foot. A foot pursuit ensued and the suspect was apprehended in the 1800 block of Osler Street.
Twenty-two year-old Donald DENG, of Regina, is charged with:
– Theft Under $5000 [334(b) CC]; and
– Assault With a Weapon [267(a) CC]; and
– Uttering Threats [264.1(1)(a).
DENG will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. today,
Monday December 13, 2021.
