A 53 year-old Regina male is facing weapons charges after an incident on Sunday evening.
Police were contacted at 9:10 p.m. on Sunday, December 12, 2021. The caller indicated that there was male in her back yard in the 2000 block of Fleury Street. When the suspect male was confronted by the male resident of the house, he pulled what appeared to be a handgun out of his backpack. The resident retreated into the house to call police, but obtained a photo and a description of the suspect. Police units were dispatched and found a male matching the description in the area. The photo was used to confirm that this was the same male seen in the back yard. A black, handgun-style, pellet gun was found in the suspect’s pocket.
Fifty-three year-old Kelly Christian JACKSON, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace, s. 88 CC; and
- Possession of ammunition contrary to order, s. 117.01(1) CC.
JACKSON made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021.
