On June 29th, 2021, at 7:43 p.m. the Regina Police service responded to a call of a 12 year old youth shot with a BB gun in the 1400 block of Montague Street.
The suspect, a 13 year old male who was known to the victim, fled prior to police arriving on scene. The victim was transported to hospital and treated for his non-life threatening injuries.
The Regina Police Service executed a search warrant in the 1200 block of Rae Street in relation to this incident. Through investigation, the 13 year old suspect was arrested and the BB gun was recovered.
The 13 year old male arrested cannot be named in accordance with provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth is charged with Discharging an Air Gun/Pistol With Intent To Wound [CC 244.1(a)] and will make his first court appearance in Youth Court on August 17, 2021 at 9:30a.m.
