Two adult males are facing charges after an apparent stabbing early Saturday morning (June 26, 2021).
Police were called to Dawson Crescent at around 4 a.m. for a report of a weapons offence. Early information suggested a male victim had been stabbed. When police arrived at the home, they located an injured male. Officers provided first aid until EMS arrived and subsequently took the male to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening stab wounds.
Through investigation, police gathered evidence that one of the males was trying to steal a car in a nearby parking lot on Avonhurst Drive and Elphinstone Street when the vehicle’s owner, an adult male, arrived on scene. It appears an altercation took place in which it’s alleged the vehicle owner stabbed the suspect.
Police investigation led to officers locating the vehicle, and its owner – the suspect in the stabbing – in a parking lot on Avonhurst Drive.
As a result, 44 year-old Vincent KAKAKAWAY of Regina, Saskatchewan is charged with:
- Aggravated Assault [268(1)].
KAKAKAWAY made his first appearance in Provincial Court this morning, June 28, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.
The victim of the assault is also facing charges related to the altercation and his alleged attempts to steal the vehicle.
Thirty year-old Jordan Wade GEDDES, of Regina, has been charged with:
- Assault With a Weapon [CC 267 (A)];
- Attempt Theft of Motor Vehicle [CC 333.1 (1)];
- Possession of Break In Instruments [CC 351 (1)].
GEDDES will make his first court appearance once released from hospital.
