An adult male and adult female are facing a number of charges after police patrol members interrupted a robbery, and a police canine team tracked the suspects in Regina last night, Monday, June 7th.
This investigation began around 9:40 p.m., when two patrol members were completing a follow-up on an unrelated file in the 1400 block of Rae Street. As they exited the building, one of the constables noticed three people in the alley between Rae and Retallack Streets. A male with his back to the officers was holding what appeared to be a firearm. When the officer shouted, two of the individuals left in the opposite direction, between houses. The third person, later confirmed to be the victim of an attempted robbery, made his way towards the officers. He was shaken, but not physically hurt. The suspects were located a short time later, with the assistance of canine and other patrol members. A male and female were taken into custody without further incident. An improvised firearm was also seized, along with ammunition.
