On Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at approximately 6:25 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Montreal Street for the report of an injured male. Information received was that a male had assaulted another male with what appeared to be a crowbar. Police arrived and discovered an adult male victim with a laceration to his head. EMS attended and the victim was sent to hospital with serious injury.
Investigation into the assault led to a 47 year-old male suspect, who was arrested without incident on the 2400 block of Lindsay Street. A search of the male revealed firearm ammunition, and the male was charged for being in breach of conditions of a firearm prohibition order. The male was subsequently charged with aggravated assault.
Forty-seven year-old Charles Edward SABEAN, of Regina, is charged with:
- Aggravated Assault [CC 268(1)]; and
- Possession of Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)].
SABEAN made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at 2:00 p.m.
