On Saturday, April 3, 2021 at approximately 9:50 p.m., police were dispatched to a weapons offence in a parking lot on the 1700 block of Elphinstone Street. Early information suggested two individuals approached their vehicle, which was parked in the lot. The individuals located an unknown male inside their vehicle and the unknown male threatened them with what was believed to be a knife. One of the individuals was involved in a brief altercation with the suspect and sustained minor injuries as a result.
Members of the Regina Police Service Canine Unit located the suspect male nearby in the 1300 block of Pasqua Street and the male was taken into custody without incident. As a result:
Twenty-seven year-old Keith Trenton BELLEGARDE, of Regina, has been charged with:
• Assault With a Weapon [CC 267 (A)].
BELLEGARDE made his first court appearance on these charges on Monday, April 5, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
