On June 13, 2026, at approximately 11:35 p.m., officers were responding to a call for service at an apartment building in the 2800 block of Dewdney Avenue when they located a male sleeping in the stairwell.
Officers woke the male and attempted to speak with him. As he stood, officers observed him reach for his waistband, where a firearm was visible. The suspect was quickly taken into custody without incident. Police seized the loaded firearm.
As a result of this investigation, 23 year-old Cody HENDERSON is charged with:
- 4 x Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)];
- Possession of a Load Prohibited/Restricted Firearm [CC 95(1)];
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92(1)];
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon [CC 90]; and
- Careless Use of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition [CC 86(1)].
HENDERSON made his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court today (June 15, 2026).
