A 29 year-old female is facing multiple charges following a theft investigation that led to the assault of a police officer.
On June 2, 2026, officers from the Downtown Safety Team were called to a report of a theft at a business in the 2100 block of 11th Avenue. Through investigation, officers learned an adult female entered the business, stole a variety of clothing items and left without paying. Officers were able to locate and arrest the suspect a short time later.
The suspect was taken to the Regina Police Service Detention Unit. During the intake process, the suspect assaulted one of the officers. The officer was taken to the hospital to be assessed and was later released.
As a result of this investigation, 29 year-old Desilva BITTERNOSE is charged with:
- Theft Under $5,000 [CC 334(B)];
- Assault of a Peace Officer Causing Bodily Harm [CC 270.01(1)(B)]; and
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order [CC 733.1(1)].
BITTERNOSE made her first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court today (June 3, 2026).
