A 41-year-old man is facing 19 charges in connection with seven separate incidents related to auto theft.
- On March 7, 2026, police were called to the 4000 block of Retallack Street for a report of someone attempting to steal a vehicle. The caller told police she noticed someone in her vehicle, and when she came outside, the suspect exited the vehicle and fled the scene. The suspect had damaged the steering column and wiring in his attempt to steal the vehicle.
- On March 11, 2026, police were made aware of an attempted theft of auto in the 700 block of King Street. The suspect broke a window to gain access to the vehicle and then damaged the steering column and wiring.
- Between March 11, 2026, and March 15, 2026, a vehicle in the 5900 block of Hague Crescent was targeted. The suspect entered the vehicle, smashed the steering column and damaged wiring.
- On March 15, 2026, police received a report of another attempted theft of auto. This time the suspect unlawfully entered a garage in the 6200 block of Ehrle Crescent and attempted to steal the vehicle inside. The steering column and wiring were both damaged in a similar fashion to previous recent incidents.
- On March 30, 2026, police received a report of an attempted theft of auto in the 100 block of McIntyre Street. The caller told police her passenger door had been pried open and there was damage to the ignition and wiring in the steering column.
- On April 7, 2026, police were made aware of another attempted theft of auto. The caller told police their vehicle, parked in the 1300 block of Rae Street, was broken into and the steering column and wiring were both damaged.
- On April 9, 2026, police located and arrested the suspect following a report of a suspicious person in the 6500 block of Rochdale Boulevard. The complainant called police and reported a male was currently inside their vehicle. The male fled the area before police arrived, however officers located him nearby and arrested him. The steering column and wiring were also damaged in this instance.
Further investigation determined the suspect was responsible for all seven occurrences.
As a result, 41 year-old Jeremy POCHA is charged with:
- 3 x Mischief Under $5000 [CC 430(4)];
- 3 x Mischief Over $5000 [CC 430(3)];
- 6 x Failure to Comply with Conditions of a Probation Order [CC 733.1(1)];
- 6 x Attempted Theft of a Motor Vehicle [CC 333.1(1)]; and
- Break and Enter with Intent to Commit an Indicatable Offense [CC 348(1)(A)].
POCHA made his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on Monday, April 13, 2026.
