An adult male is facing charges following a break and enter at a business located in the 3000 block of Dewdney Avenue.
At approximately 4:25 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2026, officers were alerted to an audible business alarm. Upon arrival, police observed a human-sized hole in a rear fence and heard footsteps coming from the roof of the building.
Officers conducted a search of the premises; however, no individuals were located inside the business. A suspect was subsequently located hiding in a chimney stack of an adjoining building. Officers communicated with the individual and warned that a Police Service Dog (PSD) would be deployed if he did not comply. When the suspect resisted arrest, the PSD was deployed and the individual was apprehended.
EMS was called to assess the suspect for what appeared to be minor injuries consistent with a dog bite, and the suspect was transported to hospital for further evaluation.
As a result of this investigation, 33 year-old David OLSON, is charged with:
- 4 x Break and Enter to Commit Theft [CC 348(1)(B)].
OLSON made his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court yesterday on March 23, 2026.
