At approximately 1:30 this morning (January 21, 2026) police responded to a report of a weapons offence in the area of 12th Avenue and Quebec Street. Information received indicated a male was walking up and down the street wielding a large bar. He had assaulted another individual and was running in front of vehicles.
Officers arrived at the scene and located a male matching the suspect description. He was taken into custody without incident. A search of the suspect, subsequent to arrest, revealed a knife and several live rounds of ammunition. The victim of the assault was assessed on scene by EMS for, what appeared to be, minor injuries.
As a result of this investigation, 24 year-old Cash DESNOMIE, is charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon [CC 267(A)];
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)];
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order [CC 733.1(1)]; and
- Carrying Concealed Weapon [CC 90)].

DESNOMIE made his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court this morning (January 21, 2026) at 9:30 a.m.
