The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, has begun a death investigation in the 1400 block of Princess Street and 3700 block of Dewdney Avenue.
Shortly before 3:00 a.m. this morning (January 19, 2026) officers attempted a traffic stop near Saskatchewan Drive and Albert Street. The vehicle evaded police but was located a short time later by the RPS Aerial Support Unit in the 1400 block of Princess Street – all occupants had exited the vehicle and fled the scene. Officers on the ground searched the suspect vehicle and located the body of a deceased person inside. Further investigation led officers to a residence in the 3700 block of Dewdney Avenue.
Officers secured both scenes and requested the additional resources of the Regina Police Service Major Crimes Unit and the Regina Police Service Forensic Identification Unit. At this time, the death is considered suspicious. The victim’s name will not be released at this time.
Anyone who has information that could assist police in this investigation is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Regina Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). The Regina Police Service thanks the public and the media for their assistance in this matter.
