Weapons Charges Laid Following Traffic Stop

A 57 year-old male is facing numerous charges following a traffic stop on Saturday, January 3, 2026.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m., officers were patrolling in the 400 block of Albert Street North when they observed a vehicle belonging to a male wanted in relation to a separate occurrence. The vehicle left the parking lot of a business in the area and travelled northbound on Albert Street headed. A short time later, officers performed a traffic stop on Highway 6 near Industrial Drive. Both occupants exited the vehicle and were taken into custody without incident.

A search of the vehicle, subsequent to arrest, revealed the following:

• Loaded Revolver
• Knives
• Axe
• Machete
• Bat

As a result of this investigation, 57 year-old Kelly Christian JACKSON is charged with:

• Careless Storage of Firearm [CC 86(2)];
• Carrying a Concealed Weapon [CC 90];
• Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92(1)];
• Possession of Firearm in a Motor Vehicle [CC 94(1)(a)(i)];
• Possession of a Loaded Firearm [CC 95(1)];
• Possession of Firearm Obtained Through Crime [CC 96(1)];
• Possession of Firearm Contrary to Court Order [CC 117.01(1)]; and
• Possession of Ammunition Contrary to Court Order [CC 117.01(1)].

JACKSON made his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court, today (January 5, 2026) at 9:30 a.m.-30-
