A 39 year-old male is facing charges after evading police last evening.
Shortly before 8:00 p.m. last night (Tuesday, November 18, 2025), officers observed a vehicle driving without headlights down 5th Avenue near the 1000 block of Retallack Street. Officers began to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle drove away at a high rate of speed. The driver went a short distance before losing control of the vehicle and hitting a curb in the 900 block of Rae Street.
Both occupants exited the vehicle and ran from the scene. Following a foot chase, the driver was taken into custody and placed under arrest.
A search of the vehicle, subsequent to arrest, revealed:
- Loaded, sawed-off rifle
- Ammunition
- 3 masks
- 4 knives
As a result of this investigation, 39 year-old Vance KAY is charged with:
- Operate Conveyance Dangerous to Public [CC 320.13];
- Resist Arrest [CC 129(A)];
- Careless Use of Firearm [CC 86(1)];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [CC 91(1)];
- Unauthorised Possession of a Firearm in a Vehicle [CC 94(1)];
- Possession of a Loaded Firearm [CC 95(1);
- Careless Storage of a Firearm [CC 86(2)]; and
- Possession of a Weapon [CC 88].
FAY made his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court this morning (Wednesday, November 19, 2025) at 9:30 a.m.
