UPDATE – Police Investigating Fatal Collison
Shortly before 12:00 p.m., police were called to an area near the intersection of Dewdney Avenue and Elphinstone Street for a report that a vehicle had collided with a person waiting at a bus stop. Further investigation revealed a freight truck left the roadway, striking a light post and a bus shelter. The victim, a 19-year-old female was inside the shelter when they were struck. EMS transported the victim to hospital where they were pronounced deceased.
A section of Dewdney Avenue was closed for several hours, while Regina Police Service collision investigators were on scene. At this time the roadway has re-opened to all traffic.
