On Friday, February 7, 2025, at approximately 4:50 p.m., officers attempted a traffic stop for an expired registration at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Elphinstone Street. While emergency lights were activated, the driver evaded police at a high rate of speed. Officers lost sight of the vehicle and no pursuit was attempted.
A short time later, officers discovered the same vehicle was involved in a hit and run in the 1200 block of Elphinstone Street. Officers then received a second report of the same vehicle colliding with two other vehicles in the area of 6th Avenue and Elphinstone Street, which had fled the scene. Shortly after the collision, officers located the abandoned vehicle in an alley nearby.
The driver was located a short distance away, and was arrested without incident. A search of the vehicle revealed items consistent with drug trafficking.
As a result of this investigation, 43 year-old Amanda Katherine CALLFAS, of Regina, is charged with:
- Use of License Plates on the Wrong Vehicle [TSA 192(3)];
