A thirty-one year old suspect wanted in relation to the 2023 murder of 32 year-old Roman MILLER is in custody.
Daniel “Juma” ATEM was arrested last night (Wednesday, January 15, 2025) in Winnipeg.
ATEM was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant, following the fatal shooting of Miller on July 29, 2023. The homicide occurred in the 2100 block of Broad Street.
In early 2024, ATEM was added to the “Top 25 Most Wanted” list by the BOLO Program, a national non-profit aimed at bringing attention to wanted criminals. In October, BOLO announced the expansion of the campaign which included a large billboard campaign, as well as a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to his arrest.
ATEM is charged with:
- First-Degree Murder [CC 235(1)].
ATEM will make his first appearance in court in Winnipeg this morning (Thursday, January 16, 2025). He will then be transported to Regina. A court date in Regina is pending.
