On Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at approximately 8:00 p.m., police were dispatched for the report of a break and enter on the 1100 block of Cameron Street. Information received indicated the suspects attempted to enter the residence through a window, before fleeing the scene. The victim provided a description of the suspects and their vehicle.
A short while later, officers located the vehicle travelling southbound on Cameron Street and conducted a traffic stop. As officers approached the vehicle, the driver exited and attempted to evade on foot. Despite several commands to stop, the suspect did not comply and swung at the arresting officer. A struggle ensued, leading the officer to sustain a wrist injury.
Further investigation was conducted and revealed a loaded firearm in the vehicle.
As a result, 24 year-old Brandon ROY, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession of an Unauthorized Firearm [CC 92(1)];
- Possession of a Loaded or Restricted Firearm [CC 95(1)];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle [CC 94(1)];
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition x6 [CC 117.01(1)];
- Resisting Arrest [CC 129(A)];
- Mischief under $5000 [CC 430 (4)];
- Assaulting a Peace Officer [CC 270 (1)(A)]; and
- Careless Storage of a Firearm [CC 86 (2)].
Forty-one year-old Ryan HERAUF, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession of an Unauthorized Firearm [CC 92(1)];
- Possession of a Loaded or Restricted Firearm [CC 95(1)];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle [CC 94(1)];
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition x2 [CC 117.01(1)];
- Careless Storage of a Firearm [CC 86 (2)].
Thirty-three year-old Cieara HASTINGS, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession of an Unauthorized Firearm [CC 92(1)];
- Possession of a Loaded or Restricted Firearm [CC 95(1)];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle [CC 94(1)];
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition x2 [CC 117.01(1)];
- Careless Storage of a Firearm [CC 86 (2)].
The accused will make their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court this afternoon, December 11, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
