Regina Drug Unit (RDU) concluded an investigation into drug trafficking in the city of Regina with the arrest of a 60 year-old male and 50 year-old female. This investigation ended with the seizure of a significant quantity of illicit drugs and contraband tobacco. The value of this seizure is believed to be approximately $900,000.
On Thursday, September 12, 2024, at approximately 8:30 a.m., RDU initiated a vehicle stop on Highway #1 west of Pense. A 60 year-old male and a 50 year-old female were arrested without incident. A search of the vehicle yielded:
- Approximately 6.3 kilograms of a substance believed to be fentanyl;
- Approximately 4 kilograms of a substance believed to be methamphetamine; and
- $1,355 in Canadian currency.
The same day, a CDSA search warrant was authorized on a residence on the 2000 block of Argyle Street, which yielded:
- Over 1500 cartons of contraband cigarettes;
- Approximately 1.2 kilograms of a substance believed to be methamphetamine;
- Approximately 224 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine;
- $2,300 in Canadian currency
- Five firearms and ammunition, including one firearm not stored properly.
As a result, 60 year-old Terrence William WARD, and 50 year-old Tracey-Lee FOSTER, are jointly charged with:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance the Purpose of Trafficking (fentanyl) [CDSA 5(2)]; and
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine) [CDSA 5(2)];
WARD is also charged with:
- Trafficking in Contraband Tobacco [CC 121.1];
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 [CC 355(B)];
- Careless Storage of Firearm [CC 86(2)];
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) [CDSA 5(2)].
The two accused made their first appearance on these charges today, Friday, September 13, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.
