The Regina Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance for information regarding a vehicle/pedestrian collision from Friday that left a pedestrian injured.
At approximately 1:35 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024, police were dispatched to the Broad Street underpass between Dewdney Avenue and Saskatchewan Drive for the report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Investigation at the scene indicates the pedestrian operating an electric mobility scooter was travelling southbound on the right side of the driving lane underneath the bridge, when a vehicle, also travelling southbound on Broad Street, struck the pedestrian’s scooter from behind, pushing the victim into the adjacent concrete wall. The pedestrian then fell from the scooter. The vehicle did not remain on scene. The pedestrian, an 81 year-old female, lay unattended before a passing vehicle stopped and called police. She was transported to hospital by EMS, where her injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.
Officers assisted in this incident with traffic control as the route was closed for collection of evidence from the scene.
