On Sunday, August 25, 2024, at approximately 7:00 p.m., police were dispatched to a gas bar on the 4400 block of Rochdale Boulevard for the report of a theft. Police arrived and learned that a male entered the store, took merchandise, and exited. When staff confronted the male, the male pulled out a knife, and fled.
At approximately 11:55 p.m. that night, on an unrelated call for service, police located a male on the 3900 block of Rochdale Boulevard that matched the description provided from the earlier incident. The male refused to provide his identity to police and was placed under arrest. A search revealed the knife believed to be shown earlier.
The male was arrested and charged. He was transported to cells, and upon booking, it was determined the male provided a false name to police. The male was properly identified and found to be in breach of conditions of two release orders. He was then charged with obstructing a police officer.
Thirty year-old Jessie Dwayne LAROSE is charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon [CC 267(A)];
- Carry Concealed Weapon [CC 90];
- Theft – Shoplifting Under $5,000 [CC 334(B)];
- Obstruct Peace Officer [CC 129(A)]; and
- 2 X Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order [CC 145(5)(A)].
LAROSE made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court today, Monday, August 26, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.
