On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, shortly after 5:00 p.m., police were dispatched to a residence on the 1100 block of Retallack Street for a firearms offence. Police gained information that there were unwelcome people in a residence, and one of them was in possession of a firearm.
Police arrived and cleared the residence. One 31 year-old male was identified and arrested on warrants. A search of his belongings located a rifle with ammunition, and a CO₂ handgun. He was subsequently charged for these offences.
Thirty-one year-old Keanu Cree DESJARLAIS, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition [CC 95(1)(B)];
- Carry Concealed Weapon [CC 90]; and
- Possession of Firearm Knowing Its Possession Unauthorized [CC 92(1)].
DESJARLAIS made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court today, Thursday June 27, 2024 at 9:30 a.m.
