On Saturday, June 15, 2024, at approximately 8:15 p.m., police were dispatched to a motor vehicle incident on Arnason Street and Rochdale Boulevard. Information received was that a youth on a bicycle was hit by a vehicle.
Police arrived and located the youth, who had sustained injury. The driver, who had called to report the incident, remained on scene.
Investigation determined the 12 year-old youth had rode into the crosswalk while crosswalk lights were not activated, and was struck by the braking vehicle.
EMS attended to the youth who was transported to hospital for assessment of injuries.
The driver was not charged in this incident.
