On Friday, June 7, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., members of the Regina Police Service Crime Reduction Team* concluded a month long investigation into drug trafficking. With the assistance of the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT), K9, and Patrol, this investigation led to a traffic stop on 1700 block of St. John Street followed by an authorized search of a residence in the 2100 Blk. of McDonald Street. A 51 year-old Regina man was taken into custody.
As a result of the searches, police located:
- 28 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine;
- 205 grams of a substance believed to be fentanyl;
- scales;
- firearms ammunition;
- 4 prohibited firearms;
- numerous firearms parts; and
- an electric stun prod.
As a result of the investigation, Adam Thomas SAMUELSON of Regina, was charged with the following:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking [CDSA 5(2)];
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm [Section 95(1) C.C.];
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession was Unauthorized [Section 92(1) C.C.];
- Transport Firearm Contrary to Regulations [Section 86(2) C.C.];
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [Section 117.01(1) C.C.]; and
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order [Section 733.1(1) C.C.].
The accused made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Monday, June 10, 2024.
