On Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m., police were dispatched to the 3200 block of Montague Street for the report of a robbery in progress. Information received was that a group of youth were outside a business, and one of the youth, armed with a firearm, robbed another youth.
The suspects fled and officers were able to track them to a residence on the 3500 block of Allen Avenue with the assistance of the Aerial Support Unit. Police located the youth inside who were all arrested. An Airsoft gun was recovered at the time of arrest.
Investigation determined the identity of the suspect in the robbery, a 15 year-old male, who was charged. Two 17 year-old males were found to be in breach of conditions, and were also charged accordingly.
A 15 year-old youth who cannot be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act is charged with Armed Robbery [CC 344 (1)(A.1)].
A 17 year-old youth who cannot be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act is charged with Fail to Comply with Disposition [YCJA 137].
A 17 year-old youth who cannot be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act is charged with Fail to Comply with Undertaking [CC 145(4)(A)].
The accused make their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Youth Court today, March 20, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
