Three people are facing dozens of charges following the recovery of large quantities of illicit drugs during a recent drug investigation.
On Friday, February 16, 2024, members of the Regina Police Service Drug Unit (RDU) along with Tactical Support Officers executed a CDSA search warrant in the 1900 Block of Saskatchewan Drive. As a result of this investigation, two adult males and an adult female were arrested. One of the male suspects was carrying a loaded handgun at the time of arrest. The search warrant execution resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of fentanyl, carfentanil, cocaine, methamphetamine, cash and a loaded 9mm carbine rifle.
The following items were seized:
- 9 Kilograms of fentanyl;
- .5 Kilogram of carfentanil;
- 1.5 Kilograms of cocaine;
- 1 Kilogram methamphetamine:
- $21,191 in cash
- 2 firearms
- 1 baton
Nine kilograms of fentanyl is a significant, as extremely small quantities of this drug can be lethal. The nine kilograms is one of the largest amounts of fentanyl ever seized by the Regina Police Service.
As a result of this investigation, 43 year-old Christopher Kenneth GIBSON is charged with
- 3 x Possession of Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking [S.5(2) CSDA];
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime [CC 355(B)];
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92(1)];
- Careless Storage of a Firearm [CC 86 (2)];
- 2 x Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition [CC 95 (1)(A)];
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92(1)];
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon [CC 90];
- 2 x Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)]; and
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order [CC 733.1(1) CC].
Thirty-four year-old Dustin Cole WYSPIANSKI is charged with:
- 3 x Possession of Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking [S.5(2) CSDA];
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime [CC 355(B)];
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92(1)];
- Careless Storage of a Firearm [CC 86 (2)];
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition [CC 95 (1)(A)];
Thirty year-old Jazmin AMYOTTE is charged with:
- 3 x Possession of Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking [S.5(2) CSDA];
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime [CC 355(B)];
