A 27 year-old male is facing numerous charges following a shoplifting incident, involving a weapon, at a business in the 4500 Block of Gordon Road.
At approximately 2:20 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2024, officers were dispatched to a weapons call in the 4500 Block of Gordon Road. When they arrived they learned an adult male had entered the business, concealed several hundred- dollars-worth of items in a backpack and attempted to leave the store without paying. When the suspect was approached by loss prevention officers (LPOs) he threatened them with a knife. The LPOs were able to seize the bag full of items from the suspect. Following this, the suspect again lunged towards the LPOs with the knife before fleeing the business on foot.
Police officers were able to quickly locate the male in a nearby parking lot. He was arrested on scene and a search following his arrest turned up a knife.
As a result of this investigation twenty-seven year-old Trey ASAPACE is charged with:
- Robbery [CC 344(1)(B)];
- Obstruct a Peace Officer [CC 129(A)];and
- Assault With a Weapon [CC 267(A)].
ASAPACE made his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court this morning, February 5, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.
