The Regina Police Service is working in conjunction with Regina Fire and Protective Services (RFPS) and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service following a fatal house fire this morning, Wednesday, December 20, 2023.
Police were called to a residence in the 2100 block of Winnipeg Street at approximately 12:40 a.m. When officers arrived, Regina Fire and Protective Services was on scene battling a large fire.
Crews worked to put the fire out and once it was safe to enter the residence, firefighters discovered two deceased persons on the second floor of the structure.
At this time, Fire Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire. In addition to providing traffic control and providing assistance to those affected by the fire, officers secured the scene and will remain on site until the investigation is complete.
