Thieves who steal deliveries have more opportunities for theft during the holiday season. The last thing you want is a thief stealing from your doorstep. To prevent precious packages and parcels from plundering:
– Require a signature before parcel drop-off.
– Have your order shipped to your workplace.
– Request delivery to a trusted neighbour or family member you know will be home to accept it.
– Use websites to track the package to prepare for its arrival.
– Contact police if you see suspicious activity in your neighbourhood.
If you believe you’re the victim of package theft, check with neighbours to see if your item was mistakenly delivered elsewhere, and confirm with the delivery company that your item was indeed delivered. Many companies can provide a picture of your parcel showing where it was deposited. If you receive confirmation that your package was delivered, report the theft to police right away.
In instances where there is door-cam recording or security footage of the theft, make sure to share this evidence with police.
