On Monday, November 13, 2023, at approximately 11:40 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of 6th Avenue and Garnet Street for the report of suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was seen driving without headlights on.
Members of the Regina Police Service observed the vehicle, which was reported stolen to the RCMP in early November. Police attempted to pull the vehicle over in the area of Dewdney Avenue and Athol Street, but the lone male driver accelerated and drove away. Police on the ground did not pursue; members of the Regina Police Service Aerial Support Unit observed the vehicle until it came to a stop on the 2200 block of Halifax Street, where the male exited. The male was then arrested by police on the ground.
Thirty-two year-old Justin Lorne PIEGAN, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 [CC 355(A)]; and
- Flight from Peace Officer [CC 320.17].
PIEGAN made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court today, Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.
