On the night of Monday, October 2, 2023, police received report of an arson to a porta-potty unit in Victoria Park. Patrol located the male who matched the witness description alone in an alley north of Victoria Avenue between Scarth Street and Hamilton Street, where he was arrested. A search revealed bear spray, a machete, and items used for starting fires.
During his arrest, a garbage bin nearby became alight with fire, and the male was also found responsible for the additional fire. The male was charged with two counts of arson, concealed weapons charges, and a mischief charge for an earlier graffiti.
Twenty-one year-old Blake MACHISKINIC-HOOD, of Regina, is charged with:
- 2 X Arson [CC 433];
- 2 X Carry Concealed Weapon [CC 90]; and
- Mischief Under $5,000 [CC 430(4)].
MACHISKINIC-HOOD made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court this morning, Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.
