The Regina Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance following a robbery that took place this past Saturday evening in east Regina.
Shortly after 10:30 p.m. on September 16, 2023, the RPS Communications Center received a call from a female victim who stated her vehicle was stolen while driving on the North Service Road next to Victoria Avenue. The caller said she and a passenger were driving westbound under the ring road overpass when they encountered an adult male walking in the middle of the road. When they slowed down, the male approached the vehicle, ordered the two occupants to exit the vehicle and threatened them with a bat.
The male suspect then left in the stolen vehicle, a 2020 grey Chevrolet Suburban.
Patrol officers met with the victim, who had been tracking her vehicle on her cell phone. Officers attended to the last location tracked, the 1600 Block of Montreal Street, and located the vehicle. The suspect was no longer on scene and several items including: luggage, clothing, prescription medication, fishing gear, a wallet/purse and personal identification were missing from the vehicle.
The suspect is described as a male in his 30’s, wearing a dark winter coat with a hood or a toque covering his head.
