A 15 year-old male is charged following an incident at a school in the 200 block of Argyle Street, yesterday afternoon, September 11, 2023.
At approximately 1:10 p.m., the on-site School Resource Officer (SRO) was called to the area inside the front doors as there were multiple students involved in a physical altercation. The officer was able to stop the initial altercation but following that, one of the students, who was being guided away from the area by a staff member, pulled out a bladed weapon. The SRO was able to quickly gain control of the weapon and take the student safely into custody. No one was physically injured.
As a result of the subsequent investigation, a 15 year-old male who cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act is charged with:
- Possession of a Weapon [CC 88}.
The youth will make his first appearance on this charge in Regina Provincial Youth Court on November 2, 2023 at 9:30 a.m.
