On May 2, 2023, at approximately 10:55 a.m., police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Campbell Street. The driver of the vehicle, a 17 year-old male, was identified and found not to have a valid driver’s license. As the driver got out of the vehicle, police observed weapons and a substance believed to be methamphetamine in the vehicle and the driver was arrested, as well as the other three occupants of the vehicle.
One of the occupants, a 31 year-old male, was identified and found to be in breach of conditions of probation. A search yielded a loaded firearm, and additional ammunition, putting the male in breach of firearms prohibition orders. The male was arrested and charged.
Thirty-one year-old Dysan D’Shaun MILLER, of Regina, is charged with:
- Careless Transportation of a Firearm [CC 86(1)];
- Carry Concealed Weapon [CC 90];
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92(1)];
- 2 X Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92(2)];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle [94(1)];
- 6 X Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)];
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition [CC 95(1)(A)];
- Tampering with Serial Number of Firearm [CC 108(1)(A)];
- Assault with a Weapon [CC 267(A)]; and
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order [733.1(1)].
MILLER made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court today, Wednesday May 3, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.
