On April 29, 2023, at approximately 1:45 PM police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Rae Street for a report of a firearm being discharged in the area. The complainant stated they heard one shot coming from an address on that block.
Police attended to the area and located the address. Four individuals were taken into custody from the address. A search warrant was executed with a firearm being recovered and seized. As a result, numerous weapons related charges were laid.
Twenty-two year-old Kocean HEAD, of Regina, has been charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession Of A Prohibited Or Restricted Weapon (Sec 91(2) CC)
- Possession Of A Weapon (Sec 88 CC)
- Possession Of A Firearm Knowing Serial Number Has Been Tampered With (Sec 108(1)(B) CC)
- Discharge A Restricted Firearm Or A Prohibited Firearm Into Or At A Place In a Reckless Manner (Sec 244.2(1)(A) CC)
- Store Firearm Or Restricted Weapon Contrary To Regs-Careless Storage Of Firearm (Sec 86(2) CC)
- Possession Of Firearm Or Ammunition Contrary To Prohibition Order x 2 (Sec 117.01(1) (CC)
Nineteen year-old Lyrik DESNOMIE, of Regina, has been charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession Of A Prohibited Or Restricted Weapon (Sec 91(2) CC)
- Possession Of A Weapon (Sec 88 CC)
- Possession Of A Firearm Knowing Serial Number Has Been Tampered With (Sec 108(1)(B) CC)
- Store Firearm Or Restricted Weapon Contrary To Regs-Careless Storage Of Firearm (Sec 86(2) CC)
- Possession Of Firearm Or Ammunition Contrary To Prohibition Order (Sec 117.01(1) (CC)
HEAD and DESNOMIE will make their first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on May 1, 2023 at 9:30 AM.
