An adult male and adult female are facing more than forty charges after an investigation led by the RPS Online Stolen Property Unit.
On Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at approximately 12:30 p.m., police initiated a traffic stop on two suspect vehicles on Lewvan Drive. The drivers of both vehicles evaded police. Officers located one of the vehicles a short time later, parked in the alley on the 800 block of Robinson Street. Police located a female suspect and a male suspect inside a garage. When the male was approached by police, he got into a vehicle parked in the garage, reversed through the garage door, and drove into the alley at a high rate of speed. The female suspect was taken into police custody without incident.
With assistance from Patrol and the Property Crimes Unit, members of the Online Stolen Property Unit executed search warrants on a home in the 800 block of Robinson Street, as well as a storage locker in the 2700 block of Sandra Schmirler Way. During the searches, police recovered two stolen vehicles, multiple firearms and stolen items believed to have come from several break and enters in the Regina area.
On February 9, 2023, the suspect male who fled from police the day prior was arrested by members of the Moose Jaw Police Service. At the time of arrest, he was driving a stolen vehicle with a stolen license plate. As a result of investigation:

- 2 X Theft Under $5000 [CC 334 (B)];
- 2 X Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [CC 91 (1)];
- Possession of a Prohibited/Restricted Firearm With Ammunition [CC 95 (1)(A)];
- 2 X Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device/Ammunition in a Motor Vehicle [CC 94 (1)(a)(ii)];
- Possession of a Weapon [CC 88];
- 3 X Break Enter & Commit [CC 348 (1)(B)];
- 3 X Possession of Break In Instruments [CC 351 (1);
- Flight from Peace Officer [CC 320.17];
- Operate Conveyance Dangerous To Public [CC 320.13 (1)];
- Resist Arrest [CC 129 (A)]; and
- 6 X Fail To Comply With Condition of a Release Order [CC 145 (5)(A)].
KOSTIUK made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on February 17, 2023 at 9:30 a.m.
Thirty-seven year-old Chantal Dawn KRAHENBIL, of Regina, has been charged with:
- Flight from Peace Officer [CC 320.17];
- Operate Conveyance Dangerous To Public [CC 320.13 (1)];
- Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Under $5000 [CC 355 (B)];
- 2 X Break Enter & Commit [CC 348 (1)(B)];
- 3 X Fail To Comply With Condition of a Release Order [CC 145 (5)(A)]; and
- 3 X Fail To Comply With Probation Order [CC 733.1 (1)].
KRAHENBIL made her first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on February 9, 2023 at 9:30 a.m.
