The Regina Police Service, working in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, is investigating a homicide.
On Thursday, February 9, 2023, at approximately 11:55 a.m., police were dispatched to a residence in the Washington Park neighborhood for the report of an injured person. Information received was that a male was the victim of an apparent overdose. Police and EMS arrived and attended to the male. At approximately 12:00 p.m. EMS pronounced the male deceased, beginning a death investigation.
Further investigation into the circumstances of the death has determined it to be a homicide. This is Regina’s first homicide of 2023.
The deceased male has been identified as a 36 year-old Regina male. Next of kin have been notified. The name of the deceased will not be released at this time.
