A disturbance and an alleged threat with a weapon, inside a Regina restaurant, has led to criminal charges against a 20 year-old male.
At approximately 6:14 p.m., on Thursday, January 19, 2023, police were dispatched to a restaurant in the 4200 block of Dewdney Avenue, for a report of a male who was allegedly smoking inside the building, throwing rocks at vehicles and pointing a knife at staff. Police arrived and located the suspect male. Officers had information that the male was seen placing the knife in a front pocket of his pants. When the male would not cooperate and turned away, there was concern he may be retrieving the weapon. A police dog was used in the subject’s arrest. The male suspect was taken to hospital for treatment of minor dog-bite injuries, and then brought to police headquarters and subsequently charged.
