The Regina Police Service is completing its investigation into a four-vehicle collision yesterday (January 3rd), which resulted in injuries to an adult female.
The collision occurred at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, in the intersection of Dewdney Avenue and Lewvan Drive. A black Chevy truck was northbound on Lewvan Drive, when a Chrysler Concorde, which was southbound on Lewvan Drive, turned east (left). The two vehicles collided causing the truck to veer into two other vehicles, which were stopped at the intersection in the westbound lanes of Dewdney Avenue. The driver of the Concorde – a 77 year-old female – was taken to hospital with injuries. All four vehicles had to be towed from the scene and, because of the serious nature of the collision, the roadway was closed to traffic for part of the day. Members of the Traffic Safety Unit collected measurements and any physical evidence at the scene, as well as data from the vehicles involved. The scene was photographed by a Forensic Identification member, and Patrol members maintained a safety perimeter, allowing investigators to complete their work. Neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in this collision.
Investigators have yet to determine if there will be any Traffic Safety Act sanctions as a result of the collision.
