A 32 year-old Regina male appeared in court this morning (Dec. 22nd) in connection with a purse-snatching incident yesterday in downtown Regina.
On Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at approximately 6:24 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of Rose Street and Saskatchewan Drive for a robbery in progress. The preliminary information indicated a male had just stolen a purse from a 52 year-old female, who was shopping downtown. The male allegedly grabbed the woman’s purse while she was seated, outside a business. The victim attempted to hold onto the purse and called for help. A 24 year-old male chased the fleeing suspect on foot. Fortunately, the victim was not physically injured. Police located the suspect male in the area and took him into custody without incident. Further investigation led to a criminal charge.
Thirty-two year-old Kory DANSEREAU, of Regina, is charged with:
- Robbery, s. 344 (1)(b) CC; and
- Fail to comply with conditions of release order, s. 145(5)(a) CC.
DANSEREAU made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2022 (today).
