The Regina Police Service is reminding the public about a Truth and Reconciliation event happening today at Mosaic Stadium. The ‘We Walk Together’ miyo–wîcîwitowin Day is expected to bring together more than ten thousand students, community leaders and members of the public.
RPS is pleased to participate in the event and we will have a large number of police officers present at Mosaic Stadium to ensure safety. Regina Police Service members will work closely with event security in an operational plan similar to any large-scale event at Mosaic Stadium. There will also be increased traffic in the area and RPS is reminding motorists to be patient and follow directions.
miyo–wîcîwitowin Day is a response to the federal government’s declaration of September 30 as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a statutory holiday to pause and reflect on the tragic history and ongoing legacy of residential schools.
