Members of the Regina Police Service Online Stolen Property Unit and Street Gang Unit located and arrested a 33 year-old male, wanted on multiple outstanding warrants in Regina including Assault, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Possession of Stolen Property, Flight from a Peace Officer and Breach of Release Orders.
Upon his arrest, investigators located several firearms, machete and an improvised incendiary device in the stolen vehicle he was operating. As such, the male was charged by police.
Thirty-three year-old Chad Tyson KEEWATIN, of Regina, is charged with:
- 2 X Possession of a Firearm Knowing Its Possession Was Unauthorized [CC 91 (1)];
- Possession of a Restricted/Prohibited firearm with Ammunition [CC 95 (1) (A)];
- Possession of Weapon Dangerous [CC 88];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a Motor Vehicle [CC 94 (1) (A) (ii)];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle [CC 94 (1)];
- Fail to Comply With Condition of a Release Order [CC 145 (5) (A)];
- 3 X Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to a Prohibition Order [CC 117.01 (1)];
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 [CC 355 (A)];
- Possession of Firearm Knowing the Serial Number Has Been Tampered With [CC 108 (1)(B)];
- Unlawful Possession of Explosives [82(1)]; and
- Possession of Scheduled Substance (Methamphetamines) [CDSA 4(1)].
Following his arrest on September 21, 2022, a search warrant was executed in the 1200 block of McTavish Street where additional evidence was seized in relation to the charges.
KEEWATIN made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court yesterday, Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
