Charges have been laid in connection with an investigation into possession of a vehicle, which was reported stolen in Regina yesterday (Wednesday).
On Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the Regina Police Service received a report of a stolen vehicle: a 2017 Subaru Impreza. The vehicle was stolen from the driveway of a residence in the 200 block of Douglas Avenue, sometime between 8:00 p.m. on July 12th and 8:30 a.m. on the 13th. At about 8:00 p.m. on July 13th, a vehicle matching the description of the stolen Impreza was spotted by a member of the Canine unit. The officer watched the vehicle stop in a parking lot in the 1400 block of Albert Street and waited for the driver and passenger to exit. The driver started to walk away as police approached, but, when he was given a verbal warning by the Canine officer, he stopped and was taken into custody without incident. Through investigation, it was determined the passenger in the vehicle had no role in the possession of the stolen vehicle. The male was charged in connection with the vehicle, as well as other unrelated matters.
