Two adult males are facing charges in connection with a police investigation that yielded a quantity of illegal drugs and paraphernalia associated to drug trafficking.
On Thursday, June 9, 2022, at about 11:30 p.m., police were dispatched to a parking lot in the 5000 block of 4th Avenue for a report of an unresponsive driver and passenger in a parked vehicle. Police approached the vehicle and found two adult males, who appeared to be unconscious. Both were taken into custody without incident. A search of one male incident to his arrest found a quantity of a substance believed to be methamphetamine. Believing the driver to be intoxicated, police arrested him. A search of the vehicle yielded a quantity of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, as well as other substances believed to be illegal drugs. There was also a scale, Canadian currency, and other items commonly associated with drug trafficking. Both males were charged.
Fifty-one year-old Charles Andrew EALEY, of Corning, SK, and 26 year-old Andrew HUZINA, of Kipling, SK, are jointly charged with Possession of a Schedules Substance (methamphetamine) for the Purpose of Trafficking, s. 5(2) CDSA.
In addition, EALEY faces a charge of Fail to Comply with Conditions of Release Order, s. 145(5)(a) CC, and HUZINA faces a charge of Impaired Operation of a Conveyance by Alcohol or Drug, s. 320.14(1)(a) CC.
Both accused individuals made their first court appearances on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m., on Friday, June 10, 2022.
