An adult female is now facing a charge of Attempted Murder in connection with an investigation that began on May 23, 2022, with the discovery of an injured female in the 1200 block of Garnet Street. One other person, an adult male, was charged in this case on May 25th.
This investigation began when police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Garnet Street at about 2:00 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2022. The early information indicated there was an injured female at that location. The victim: a 30 year-old Regina woman, was taken to hospital by EMS, with injuries described as serious. As the result of continued investigation into this case, police have now arrested and charged a second person in connection with this incident.
Thirty-four year-old Ashley REMPEL, of Regina, is charged with:
- Attempted Murder, s. 239(1)(b) CC;
- Kidnapping, s. 279(1)(1.1) CC;
- Forcible Confinement, s. 279(2) CC; and
- Aggravated Assault, s. 268(1) CC.
REMPEL made her first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. (today) on Friday, June 3, 2022.
